An Intimate Elopement Wedding at a Historic Stillwater Mansion
Julie and Jamison decided to get married with just a handful of their closest friends and family surrounding them at the William Sauntry Mansion in Stillwater, Minnesota. Jamison is in the military, and with the whirlwind of moving and job assignments in the coming months, it made sense for them to celebrate their union (in style!) now and throw a party down the road. They invited us to document their day which we loved in every way. There is something so special about that first champagne toast with just a few people in the room, the lack of dry eyes in every seat and the love radiating between two people when their special Tuesday Wedding means more to them than any multiple thousand dollar affair on a weekend. Congratulations Julie + Jamison! We hope to see your radiating faces on our blog again in the future.
Historic Wedding Venues in Minnesota
We love shooting in historic venues and buildings, and Stillwater has a lot of them. Places like the Sauntry Mansion Bed and Breakfast are a great alternative to larger, and more expensive, venues for couples choosing to elope, or choosing to have a small, intimate wedding with close family and friends only. Julie and Jamison really made the most of these opportunities, choosing to stay at the inn, have their portraits and ceremony there, and then walking into Stillwater for a dinner in lieu of a reception.
