This wedding was such a treat to photograph. Everything about Caitlin + Tom's Wedding day was so thoughtful and special. We love, love, love when couples personalize their day to prioritize what's important to them - and these two *nailed* it. We've found a surprising amount of folks who have connections to both New England and Minnesota like we do, and Caitlin and Tom fit this bill as well. They live in Somerville, Mass but choose to hold their wedding in the city the bride grew up in. You may remember their Somerville Engagement session and now it's come full circle with their Minneapolis wedding. They started their wedding day getting ready at Caitlin's parents beautiful loft condo right next to the Mill City Museum where there was a calm but excited energy buzzing about when I arrived to capture the final preparation details. After a darling first look we caught up with their friends and family for some photos around Minneapolis and the Stone Arch Bridge, dodging sun showers the whole way. Their ceremony was in the community room at her parents loft, and while it was the back up rain plan, all the guests agreed it was the perfect spot for their ceremony. They choose highly personalized readings and incorporated two performance art pieces that were both a nod to traditional wedding passages (like a unity candle) but had their own twist that fit their career interests (they are both academic musicians and artists). After the ceremony all the guests were treated to a champagne reception - with truffles and chocolates of course - and a live accordion player which made for a festive and Parisian flair. Following that everyone ventured down the street to the highly acclaimed Twin Cities restaurant, The Bachelor Farmer for a cocktail hour and beautiful dinner. Matt and I decided that if we had to plan our wedding all over again we may just beg Caitlin and Tom to let us copy them. Such an enjoyable day, such a lovely couple. Caitlin and Tom - thank you for allowing us to document your wedding. You are both a delight and we couldn't be happier for you!
