Alison and Michael were married on a hot, sunny day in central Wisconsin. It was a joyous day filled with laughter, gorgeous rural landscapes and hugs. Alison and her ladies got ready at her family's lake home nearby where the anticipation of the day buzzed around as everyone primped and prepped. Alison was a steady force among the excitement. She was grounded, excited and simply glowing. The guys got ready at a nearby hotel but everyone met up at the stunning venue for the couple's first moments together before the ceremony. The butterflies flew away once these two saw one another, and the day was off and running. Guests arrived and immediately relaxed as they were taken by the rolling prairie land and stunning grapes growing in the sun. The Barn was a perfect blend of old and new. We loved how you could see the sunlight streaming through the sides as the chandeliers twinkled and the candles welcomed everyone in. They had a touching ceremony and the party really got going after their recessional. Donuts, BBQ and a late night taco truck made for a festive environment and it was just one of those weddings where everyone kicked back and had a great time. We loved working with Alison and Michael and their families...they were a crew of people we felt at home with. We are looking forward to seeing them again in October when we shoot Alison's sister's wedding in Chicago. At the end of the day, we left with tired bodies from shooting in the 105 degree heat index all day but we collapsed on the sofa with very full and grateful hearts. It feels good to work hard for such a deserving couple who has their entire, joy-filled lives lying in front of them. We couldn't imagine a better way to spend the weekend. Alison and Michael, thank you for trusting us to capture your amazing wedding day! Congratulations!
