We've heard that nearly 75% of all wedding photographers don't make it past three years in the business. This could be attributed to a few things - high pressured working conditions and the sheer volume of the amount of work involved probably topping the list. We're in our fifth year of shooting weddings and things are not slowing down anytime soon. I'm convinced this is because our number one criteria for taking on new clients is that these couples are genuinely in love with their future spouse and are getting married for all the right reasons. People who understand that their wedding day is just one (beautiful) day, but their marriage is the prize at the end of a great party. Danielle and Jason are such people. Chuck was fortunate enough to photograph their wedding day (isn't he just the best?) but even through all our wedding planning communications it was clear that Danielle and Jason are made for one another. Even looking at the love radiating through these photos leaves shivers down our spine. We were honored to have the chance to tell their story and wish them years of happiness together. Congratulations Danielle and Jason!
Danielle + Jason = Engaged
Oh we have a treat for you today, friends. Danielle and Jason are about as sweet as they come, and if the above photo evidence isn't proof enough, let us gush just a minute about them. Danielle is the type of person whose presence feels like a warm hug. She's giggly, smart and head over heels for her love, Jason. Jason is charming, stead fast and one of the most caring people you will ever meet. They deserve one another, and it's been a blast working with them so far. Chuck is their lead shooter, so it's always fun to watch him capture the love our couples share. As a side note, we are constantly blown away by the caliber of his talent. It's not hard to make couples like Danielle and Jason shine, but while working on the images there just wasn't a single photo that was less than amazing. We hope you enjoy this session as much as we do(especially those beautiful fall colors that are now tucked away for the year) and hope you'll join us in Congratulating these two on their Engagement!
Erica + Alex = Married
You guys. These two are seriously the sweetest ever. Erica and Alex both have hearts of gold and are the types of people who radiate happiness. Just being around them makes you smile, so you can imagine the overwhelming love and joy that poured out of them on their wedding day. Shooting their wedding left a perma-smile on our faces and a heart of gratitude to get to photograph such exceptional love stories as our living. The day started with Erica getting pretty with her ladies and Alex hanging with his guys. The excitement and anticipation was buzzing when we arrived and lasted throughout the evening. They shared an intimate first look under the largest tree in Connecticut (it's over 24 feet in diamater!) which made for some beautiful portraits and then ventured over to a nearby pedestrian bridge of flowers to meet up with their bridal party and family for more portraits. The weather couldn't have been more perfect as they exchanged vows in a vineyard on site of their wedding property, Rosedale Farm and Vineyards. After the kiss, their guests ventured over to a nearby meadow for lawn games, the Summer Street Photobooth and some amazing food (and sweets) in the breezy and whimsically styled tent. Their guests spoiled them with heartfelt toasts and well wishes and they danced the night away under the stars. It was truly a perfect day for such a deserving couple that we were so happy to have the chance of photographing. Congratulations you two! We wish you many years of happiness!
Stephanie + Tyler = Married
At this point, you've seen all of Stephanie and Tyler's photos and there isn't much more I can add in text that communicates just how incredible their wedding day was. I mean really! Go ahead and start at the top and look through them again. Don't you love the happiness that oozes from their faces? From their friends and families? Stephanie and Tyler are really *good* people. They both have hearts of gold and it leaves us feeling like things are pretty great with the world when two such deserving people have found love and are moving forward in life together. Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington, Connecticut served as the perfect backdrop for their classy nuptials and we loved all the personalized details Stephanie and Tyler added into their wedding to make the venue feel like home for the day. We had a blast working on this wedding and can't imagine two people more deserving of a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations Stephanie and Tyler!
Laura + Peter = Married
Laura and Peter are high school sweethearts - and what sweethearts they are! They are some of the kindest, gentlest, sweetest people you will ever meet. We loved photographing their Connecticut wedding at Saint Clements Castle, which they both worked at when they were in high school (isn't that cute?). We started the day off with getting ready photos. Laura and her attendants put the finishing touches on their preparations at a nearby B&B with the most adorable back yard, which we later took advantage of during their portraits. Peter got ready at a nearby hotel and after a few photos with his guys (I think they look really cool in that parking lot photo) he came over to the Inn for their first look and their couple portraits. Their sweet love made our job a breeze as we snapped away in their we're-almost-married excitement. The sky gave us mixed signals with sun showers and big clouds, making an eminent rain storm seem like a tease. Once we got to Saint Clements Castle for their ceremony and reception, the storm clouds had decided they were going to play a role in Laura and Peter' wedding day. A quick shift in outdoor ceremony locations and a prompt start to their ceremony allowed us to dash the rain storm almost completely. Just as the minister said "You may kiss the bride" as if it were choreographed, it started raining down on Laura and Peter. Everyone cheered and hurried their way inside for the cozy cocktail hour and reception. Their reception was a blur of hugs and laughter and ended with a giant dance party which even Grandma boogied down. All in all, it was a success! Laura and Peter, you're been a joy to work with. We're so happy for you and know you have so much to look forward to together. Congratulations!
Heather + Steven = Married
There is so much to love about Heather and Steven. If the above images haven't shown you just how good they are together, let me elaborate a bit. Heather and Steven met while in undergrad at Yale. They now live in Cambridge where Heather commutes to her Graduate program at Brown and Steven is at his Graduate program at Harvard. As Heather's sister and maid of honor pointed out in her toast on their wedding day, this alone is enough to make you feel a little jealous of them - let alone their stunning good looks. The thing about Heather and Steven however, is that they could not be more loving, caring or kind. They are the real deal. We enjoyed every moment of their wedding at St. Thomas More Chapel in New Haven (by far one of the most unique Catholic Church we've shot in!) followed by their old world charm reception at the New Haven Lawn Club and gorgeous florals by Candi's Floral Creations. As if the venues weren't exciting enough to photograph, it was really Heather and Steven's love that stole the show like a big cherry on a sundae. We left their wedding with a giant smiled wiped on our faces after witnessing the outpouring of love from their family and friends during their big day (Heather's Dad who doesn't consider himself a singer even sang her a Billy Joel song during the reception, and Steven and his mom's parent dance was so advanced and charming!) All in all, it was a beautiful day filled with beautiful love. What more could you ask for? Congrats you two! We hope you're having fun in Italy!
Marie + Mike = Married
This wedding. I'm telling you. GORGEOUS. Every inch of it! What's more, is that for these two, it was not about that, but their love managed to infuse every inch of their day making it beautiful from the inside out. From the beginning, one of the first things Marie and Mike were excited about in their wedding planning process was their ceremony. The solemnly grand backdrop of St. Mary's Dominican Friar's Church provided an elegant and sacred space to exchange vows. The excitement beamed on their faces as they exited the church and we took a stroll through Yale's campus capturing some portraits which were again GORGEOUS - but how could they not be when we had subjects as stunning as Marie and Mike? Their reception was held at the Union League Cafe and really felt like one large dinner party with french food, a four piece band and croquembouche - could it get any better?
