The E Family
We're in love with this breezy set of family photos and the people who shine in them even more. If you've been following our work for awhile (and we're talking - say - for the last five years or so?) Maggie and Louis have been no strangers to our cameras. From their Engagement and Wedding to the births of their first and second children, we've had the honor of documenting them through some of the biggest milestones a family can experience. We met up with them at Afton State Park in Afton, Minnesota a few weeks back for some updated family photos and a picnic dinner complete with popcorn to appease the toddlers. It's always a beautiful thing when work feels like fun and when your mom asks what you did over the weekend and you say you had a picnic with Maggie and Louis' crew (oh and we took some photos, also). It's always fun with these four, and we're excited to watch them grow into a thriving, radiant bunch.
The S Family
It's hard to put into words how special this family is. I definitely get writers block because of all the wonderful things I could share with you about them. Since my time is brief, you should know this: The S Family are one of the most genuine, gracious and loving group people you will ever meet, and boy does it show in images! They have inspired so many to live more intentional lives and are actively changing the face of palliative care in the Midwest (and I'm convinced, soon to be our entire country). You can read and support more about this family on Dannell's beautiful blog here. It was my pleasure to photograph their family as they grow and blossom into the little people their boys are becoming, and the wisdom they are gaining in this parenting gig. Dannell and Peter, your love is infectious and your boys are incredibly blessed to have you. We're lucky to call you friends and clients.
The B*G Family
We love this job for so many reasons. The biggest being that we are given the honor of coming into people's lives during such emotional and vulnerable moments. Falling in love, getting engaged, getting married, having a baby and watching your family grow and change - these are the exciting years of life and it's with a full heart that we get to celebrate these times with our clients. When Maggie and Nick invited me to capture some photos of their sweet family on their little boy's first birthday I was so excited to document this stage for these three. Making it through the first year of your first child's life is a major accomplishment (those of you who have been there totally understand) and these two are doing life and parenting with such grace and ease. Their family radiates love and I hope the photos speak that to you today. Thank you for letting me into your beautiful lives, Maggie and Nick! Little G is irresistible!
The V Family
I don't know about you, but these photos are exactly what I needed today. Over the weekend, I lost a dear friend and when life slaps you in the face like that, one's priorities become very clear. I'm thankful to have a job that captures life's most precious things: life, love and families. I'm thankful to be able to capture life's little details and greatest moments to look back on as time passes by. I feel like there is nothing as beautiful as giving someone a gift of an artistic memory. This session represents that quite well. In November, we gave away a free photo session to a random entry of our first new blog post on our new website. Jacquie won, and she decided to have a family session done when we were in the Midwest next. We were able to capture the V family in St Paul, MN at the beginning of January with their darling little 7 month old boy. They were so precious together. Little Thomas was SO well behaved and I loved watching his face beam when his parents loved on him. Jacquie and her husband James are warm, loving and a bundle of fun. We couldn't think of better people to give this gift to. Thank you for letting us capture your darling family, Jacquie!
